Poetry & Music: Spektral Quartet & Theaster Gates

Explore a salon brought into the 21st century. The GRAMMY-nominated Spektral Quartet partners with Chicago-based artist and organizer Theaster Gates to spotlight some of the city’s most charismatic creatives in music, poetry, dance, and visual art in an environment that draws voices and traditions into dynamic conversation. The salon will include work by poet and songwriter avery r. young, former Chicago Symphony composer-in-residence Samuel Adams, Alyssa Martinez, the Black Monks of Mississippi, and a musical performance by 2018 Guggenheim fellow Tonia Ko.
