Coach House Books
For the past forty years, Coach House Books has been publishing fiction, poetry, drama and artists' books that push at the boundaries of convention. Since 1965, Coach House has been the home of fascinating literary invention: Michael Ondaatje typeset his first book here, and Ann-Marie MacDonald and Margaret Atwood published some of their early books with the press. Coach House has also been the site of great advances in bookmaking technology: though we still print our books on old Heidelberg presses, we were one of the first presses to use digital typesetting programs, and we were the first press in Canada to offer the full text of our books online in 1997. These days, we're publishing innovative and award-winning works by some of North America's finest writers, including Christian Bök, Nicole Brossard, Michael Redhill, Claudia Dey, Guy Maddin, Sina Queyras, Andrew Kaufman and Darren O'Donnell.
